The Speakeasy is Charlotte’s answer to Bootlegger’s Ball-style parties, playing reworked arrangements of rock, pop, and funk songs mixed with jazz standards.

Reception

  • 5-piece hybrid jazz/party band (male or female lead vocals, bass, keys or guitar, drums, horn or guitar)
    • Postmodern Jukebox-style arrangements of rock, pop and funk songs mixed with jazz standards
  • Lower volume than traditional party bands
  • Band plays two 75-90 minute sets with a break in between
  • Prerecorded break/dinner music at no additional charge
  • One (1) full audio setup
  • One (1) full lighting setup (band use only; uplighting NOT provided)
  • Mic for speeches/toasts/announcements
  • Up to 3 first dance song requests
  • Minimum required stage size: 16′ x 20′

Reception
  • Additional vocalist or instrument
  • PA upgrade for events larger than 200 people
Cocktail Hour
  • Separate PA setup and dinner playlist
  • Live musician cocktail hour configurations:
    • Live jazz trio (60 minutes – includes ONE relocation)
  • Band is willing to play in separate non-reception location
Ceremony
  • Ceremony PA setup with single microphone, processional and recessional songs, optional 30-minute prerecorded prelude music
  • 30 minutes of ceremony jazz/light pop prelude music with band member on piano or guitar
